History of Geraldine, AL
First settlers, besides the Indians, settled into Geraldine before the Civil
War. It is said that way back in the 1800's, the city was referred
to as "Lee", a possible reference to General Lee. William A. Johnson
started the first post office 1882. He originally donated the land where
the school is now. The city was officially incorporated in 1956. A
brand new water tank with Geraldine's logo, the Bulldog, is one of the latest in
city infrastructure improvements to the city. Any more history that anyone
